Job summary

Unitywater invites applications for a Treatment Plant Assistant Operator to help safely run wastewater and recycled water plants at Kawana, Landsborough and Maleny. This temporary role runs through August 2027 and offers practical experience in the water industry.

You will work alongside licensed Operators, assist with daily operations and maintenance, monitor SCADA, collect samples, perform basic analyses and support data entry and reporting, plus site housekeeping.

Qualifications

Treatment Plant Assistant Operator or Operator

About the role:

As a Treatment Plant Assistant Operator, you will support the safe and reliable operation of Unitywater's sewage treatment and recycled water plants across Kawana, Landsborough and Maleny. This is a temporary opportunity through to August 2027, providing hands-on experience and development within the water industry.

Working alongside experienced Treatment Plant Operators, you will assist with daily plant operations and maintenance, monitor performance using SCADA, collect samples, undertake routine analysis and support basic troubleshooting, data entry and reporting.

You will also help maintain clean, safe and well-presented sites through general housekeeping and grounds maintenance.

About you:

• A Certificate III in Wastewater Treatment is desirable.
• A current C Class Driver's Licence.
• Strong attention to detail and time management skills.
• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office, and experience using corporate business systems (desirable).
