Job summary

The Social Worker role at Women’s and Children’s Health Network offers specialized therapeutic support to vulnerable young people aged 12–25 under Guardianship, coordinating care with families and agencies. A flexible, mobile, and assertive approach is required.

Qualifications

• Degree in Social Work eligible for AASW membership.
• Experience providing therapeutic services to young people who experienced sexual abuse/assault.
• Knowledge of child and adolescent development, trauma‑informed practice, and WHS frameworks.
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and crisis intervention skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide priority services determined by risk, vulnerability, impact of trauma, and age.
• Develop collaborative relationships with the Department of Child Protection.
• Facilitate the response for youth who have experienced sexual abuse and are at risk of exploitation.
• Support a positive, respectful, and safe work environment through collaborative relationships.
• Ongoing professional development and contribution to service evaluation.
