Job summary

Women’s and Children’s Health Network (WCHN) in Adelaide CBD is seeking a Social Worker for the Intensive Therapeutic Care Program. You will provide therapeutic support to at-risk youth, collaborate with families and agencies, and contribute to a trauma-informed service.

The role requires a Social Work degree, AASW eligibility, and strong crisis-intervention skills, with a combined focus on safety, development and multidisciplinary teamwork.

Qualifications

• Degree in Social Work from an accredited course eligible for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
• Experience delivering therapeutic services to young people who have experienced sexual abuse/assault.
• Knowledge of child/adolescent development, trauma-informed practice and WHS frameworks.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and crisis intervention abilities; capable of independent and multidisciplinary work.

Responsibilities

• Provide priority services based on risk, vulnerability and trauma impact, prioritising younger clients.
• Develop close collaborative relationships with the Department of Child Protection.
• Facilitate responses for young people at risk of sexual exploitation and absconding.
• Support a positive, respectful, and safe work environment with collaborative relationships.
• Commit to ongoing professional development and service evaluation/improvement.
