Job summary

Gold Coast Centre Against Sexual Violence (GCCASV) is seeking an experienced mental health practitioner to join our specialist counselling and advocacy team. The role combines targeted client work with mental health assessment, trauma-focused counselling and short-term support.

You will work closely with the Counselling Manager and team to strengthen our response to domestic violence, trauma and mental health, including group interventions and system navigation.

Qualifications

• Registration with AHPRA or equivalent professional body.
• Experience with domestic violence, trauma and mental health needs.
• Ability to work trauma-informed and victim-centred.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialist mental health assessment, formulation, counselling and intervention.
• Maintain a small caseload with complex mental health needs.
• Offer crisis and short-term mental health support as needed.
• Support intake, care planning and pathway navigation.
• Develop referral partnerships with mental health and community services.
• Deliver mental health-focused groups and interventions.
• Contribute to organisational capacity building and practice development.
