Job summary

Mott MacDonald Brisbane is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead bridge and civil structures design within our Bridges & Civil Structures team. You will contribute to large-scale projects, collaborating with government authorities and Tier 1 contractors to deliver safe, climate-resilient infrastructure across Australia.

The role includes mentoring junior engineers, managing small to medium projects, and producing calculations, drawings, reports and specifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• RPEQ/Chartered or equivalent professional registration.
• Bridge design experience using AS5100.
• Understanding of Road and Rail Authority design requirements.
• Analytical design experience using Midas Civil or similar.
• Experience delivering Design and Construct projects is desirable.
• Leading structures on multidisciplinary projects is ideal.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and technical analysis of bridge and civil structure projects.
• Produce high-quality engineering documentation, including calculations, drawings, reports, and specifications.
• Collaborate with clients and project teams across multiple locations to deliver integrated solutions.
• Drive innovation in design while maintaining a strong focus on safety and project timelines.
• Manage small to medium-sized projects, including risk assessment and mitigation.
• Mentor and coach junior engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence and growth.

Your Opportunity

Due to strong growth and an exciting pipeline of projects, Mott MacDonald's Transport team has an exciting opportunity for a driven Senior Structural Engineer to join our dynamic Bridges and Civil Structures team in Brisbane. You’ll play a key role in delivering innovative, multidisciplinary projects in collaboration with government authorities and Tier 1 contractors.

Our projects are predominantly infrastructure based, and as a Senior Structural Engineer - Bridges & Civil Structures, you will be working on large scale multidiscipinary projects that shape the communities in which we live. You will be joining a diverse and passionate team with a proven track record delivering major projects across Australia. • Lead the design and technical analysis of bridge and civil structure projects, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and requirements.

About You

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering
• RPEQ, Chartered or demonstrate equivalent credentials suitable for application
• Bridge Design experience using AS5100
• Understanding of Road and Rail Authority design requirements
• Experience in analytical design using Midas Civil or similar
• Demonstrated experience in delivering Design and Construct projects is desirable
• Leading structures on multidiscipline projects is ideal
