Job summary

Mott MacDonald in Brisbane, QLD, is seeking an experienced Lead Structural Engineer to lead and guide the structures team on landmark buildings projects across sectors, driving safety, design quality and client relationships.

You'll mentor the team, manage resources, and collaborate with the Market Lead to ensure commercial performance and delivery across the Buildings discipline.

Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer with a degree in structural engineering or a related field.
• Strong design creativity with the ability to develop technically robust structural concepts while maintaining design intent.
• Commercially aware with the ability to lead structural and multidisciplinary complex projects and manage client relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead significant projects and bids to strengthen our structural presence in QLD.
• Deliver landmark building projects across sectors such as arts, aviation, education, transport, civic, and life sciences.
• Promote safety through leadership activities like safety walks and incident reporting.
• Assist the Market Lead with people management and fostering collaboration.
• Manage resource planning and succession.
• Ensure compliance with systems, procedures, and training.

Mott MacDonald are currently seeking experienced Lead Structural Engineer to join our talented Buildings team. In addition to leading complex projects and strengthening our market presence, the successful Structures candidate will lead and guide the structures team, collaborating with the State Market Lead to oversee commercial performance and resource management for the team.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading significant projects and supporting successful project bids to strengthen our structural presence in QLD.
• Lead and deliverlandmark building projectsacross sectors including arts & culture, aviation, education, transport, civic, and life sciences.
• Promoting a culture of safety by engaging in leadership activities, such as safety walks and incident reporting.
• Assisting the Market Lead with pragmatic people management and encouraging collaboration.

About You

• Chartered Engineer with adegree in structural engineering or a related field.
• Possess a high level of design creativity with the ability to develop technically robust structural concepts whilst maintaining a strong focus on the design intent.
• Commercially aware with the ability to successfully lead structural and multidisciplinary complex projects through all phases whilst managing and developing strong client relationships.
• Desire to work within a multidisciplinary team, driving innovation and excellence, contributing to workplace culture.
