Job summary

Transport for NSW is seeking a Transport Planner based in Milsons Point to help develop transport planning guidance and tools. You will support projects shaping NSW's transport future and deliver better outcomes for customers and communities.

Working in the Technical Guidance and Frameworks team, you will conduct research, prepare technical advice, and collaborate with subject matter experts to translate complex planning data into practical resources.

Qualifications

• Experience contributing to transport planning, infrastructure, policy, consulting or public-sector projects.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with data and spatial analysis experience.
• Experience supporting project scoping, planning and delivery, including developing transport planning guidance.
• Ability to prepare clear, accurate and well-structured reports and technical documents.
• Confidence working collaboratively with subject matter experts and stakeholders across government or industry.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to organise day-to-day work and adapt to changing priorities.
• Solid foundation in transport planning principles with relevant tertiary qualifications.
• Curious, proactive and motivated to support industry-leading transport planning practice.

Responsibilities

• Join the Transport Planning branch to help develop guidance, frameworks and tools such as the Guide to Transport Impact Assessment, Design of Roads and Streets and Transport Access Indicators.
• Support projects that shape the future of the transport system and deliver better outcomes for customers and communities across NSW.
• Contribute to development and improvement of transport planning guidance, frameworks and planning tools.
• Undertake research and analysis, prepare clear technical advice and documentation, and work with subject matter experts and stakeholders.
• Support updates to existing guidance and development of new products, contribute to project scoping and delivery, and translate complex information into practical resources.
• Contribute to innovative and data-informed approaches that strengthen integration of transport and land use planning.
• Work across different subject areas, manage competing priorities and contribute to multidisciplinary projects.
