Job summary

Transport for NSW is seeking a Senior Transport Planner to shape NSW’s transport planning practice. You will help develop technical guidance, frameworks and tools and contribute to network planning projects, creating outcomes for customers and communities.

The role emphasizes evidence-based analysis, collaboration with subject matter experts and external partners, plus a flexible hybrid work arrangement enabling office and remote work.

Qualifications

• Experience in transport planning, infrastructure, consulting or the public sector.
• Qualified in planning, engineering or related discipline.
• Curious, proactive and motivated to shape industry leading practice.
• Ability to deliver high quality outputs using evidence-based approaches.
• Confident with evidence and using project management approaches and data-driven methods.
• Effective in multidisciplinary environments and with external partners.
• Strong communication to translate complex analysis into practical insights.
• Advanced transport planning capability with guidance, frameworks and methodologies.

Responsibilities

• Develop transport planning guidance, frameworks and tools such as ITS guides and indicators.
• Contribute to network planning projects to shape the future transport system.
• Lead data-driven planning outcomes balancing policy direction and stakeholder needs.
• Provide high-quality, evidence-based advice to senior leaders.
• Assist updates to existing guidance and creation of new guidelines.
