Job summary

Randstad is partnering with a well-established, family-owned transport and logistics business to recruit a Transport Operations Manager. You will own the head office function, overseeing financial management, HR, compliance, and administration, while actively modernising systems and workflows to drive efficiency.

Reporting to the owners, you will lead two administrative staff, manage end-to-end payroll, and ensure NHVR CoR compliance, with a focus on work-life balance and practical, on-site

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Operations, Office, or Business Management within transport/logistics.
• Strong familiarity with CoR and WHS in a fleet environment.
• Proactive mindset with system improvement focus.
• Hands-on experience with accounting systems and full-cycle payroll.
• Experience leading small administrative teams.

Responsibilities

• Review administrative workflows and implement modern systems and SOPs to improve efficiency.
• Oversee AP/AR, payroll (weekly/fortnightly), superannuation, reconciliations, and monthly reporting to owners.
• Drive WHS standards and NHVR Chain of Responsibility compliance, maintaining audit readiness.
• Assist owner with client quotes, supplier rate negotiations, and cost control.
• Manage, mentor, and drive performance for two administrative staff; oversee recruitment and records.
• Coordinate fleet renewals and administration for workers' compensation and liability insurance.
