Job summary

Sandy Evans Recruitment is seeking a Training Coordinator to mentor and support trainees and apprentices in a Cape York community. The role is a 12-month parental leave cover, with Cairns-based duties and regular travel to Cape York (travel allowance provided).

An alternative option offers full‑time work in the community with subsidised accommodation and relocation. You will design and deliver training programs, coach staff, and promote professional development across departments, ensuring

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and/or at least 2 years' experience in professional development, training or a related role.
• Experience designing and delivering training programs.
• Strong coaching, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent organisational and project management skills.
• Sound knowledge of modern approaches to HR and an understanding of employment-related legislation.
• A desire to interact positively with, and experience communicating with, Australian First Nations people, their culture and customs.

This position will be mentor and support trainees and apprentices to facilitate their successful progression through the coursework and practical skills development of their courses. It will also facilitate and monitor professional development opportunities for all staff, providing clear pathways for growth and a more highly skilled workforce.

You will have:
