Job summary

Argo Natural Resources is seeking a proactive Training Coordinator to develop, implement and maintain training systems across our operations. The role reports to site leadership and focuses on ensuring workforce competency, compliance and readiness through coordinated training activities.

You will work with operational leaders, employees and external providers to deliver a structured framework that supports continuous improvement and safety culture.

Qualifications

  • Three years’ experience in training coordination or similar role.
  • Knowledge of training systems and adult learning principles.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and scheduling tools.

As part of our ongoing commitment to operational excellence, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Training Coordinator to join our team and support the effective delivery of training and competency systems across our operations.


About the Role

Reporting to the relevant site leadership team, the Training Coordinator is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining effective training systems that ensure workforce competency, compliance and operational readiness.


This role plays a key part in coordinating training activities, maintaining training systems, supporting workplace trainers and assessors, and ensuring employees and contractors have the skills and knowledge required to perform their roles safely and effectively.


The successful candidate will work closely with operational leaders, employees, contractors and external training providers to deliver a structured training framework that supports business objectives and continuous improvement.


About You

You are a proactive and organised training professional with a passion for developing people and building workforce capability. You have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple priorities in a dynamic operational environment.


You will be committed to delivering high-quality training outcomes while supporting a strong safety and compliance culture.


Essential Skills & Experience


  • Minimum three years’ experience in a training coordination, learning and development, or similar role.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of training systems, competency management and adult learning principles.

  • Strong planning, organisational and scheduling skills.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively within a team environment.

  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify improvements and implement solutions.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

  • Strong commitment to accountability, professionalism and achieving quality outcomes.


Qualifications


  • Diploma or higher qualification in Training and Assessment, Education, Learning and Development, or a related discipline.

  • Current Trainer and Assessor qualification (or equivalent).


Desirable


  • Experience within the mining or resources industry.

  • Knowledge of Queensland coal mining legislative requirements and training obligations.

  • Experience managing Learning Management Systems (LMS), Pegasus, or similar training databases.

  • Experience developing, reviewing and implementing training packages and competency-based assessments.

  • Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships and influence performance across all levels of an organisation.
