Job summary

JB Hunter in Australia seeks experienced telecommunications professionals to deliver comprehensive safety and telecom training. The role includes transitioning from field work to education, sharing industry know-how, and shaping the next generation of technicians across multiple sites.

You will train learners, assess competency, and contribute to program improvements while travelling to client sites and maintaining equipment and records.

The Opportunity

Due to continued growth and strong demand for training programs, we're looking for Trainers and Assessors to deliver telecommunications and associated safety training from our Sydney campus and occasionally at client sites throughout Australia.

You’ll play a key role in delivering engaging learning experiences while ensuring the highest standards of educational outcomes and compliance.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Deliver telecommunications and safety training programs
• Facilitate engaging classroom and practical learning activities
• Assess learner competency through practical and theory-based assessments
• Mark and provide constructive feedback on learner assessments
• Maintain training and testing equipment
• Ensure assessment records and documentation are completed accurately and compliantly
• Contribute to continuous improvement of training programs and learner experiences
• Support a positive, professional and inclusive learning environment

About You

We're looking for someone who combines strong technical expertise with a genuine passion for helping others learn and succeed.

Ideally, you’ll have:

Extensive experience in customer premises telecommunications, including:

• Open Cabling
• Structured Cabling
• Coaxial Systems
• Testing and Fault Finding
• Experience within carrier network environments, particularly fibre-based technologies
• A learner-focused mindset with a commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Experience delivering training and assessment within the VET sector (highly regarded)
• TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or equivalent)

Don't have the TAE qualification?

That’s okay. If you have significant telecommunications industry experience and a desire to train, we can support the right candidate to obtain their qualification.
