Job summary

Otraco is offering a Trainee Tyre Fitter program with on-the-job training across several mining locations. No prior tyre fitting experience is required, and successful applicants will be paid while learning the trade.

The role includes 4-week theory training followed by site placements, with opportunities for career development and nationally recognised certification. Applicants must meet licensing and safety requirements, be willing to relocate to listed locations, and commit to a long-term

Qualifications

• Must hold WA C Class Manual and WA HR A or B driving licence.
• Must hold a Worksafe (HRWL) Forklift Ticket.
• Pass pre-employment medical and Drug & Alcohol screening.
• Current police check required.
• Strong safety and procedural focus.
• Labouring tasks experience advantageous.

Responsibilities

Tyremanagement andmaintenanceisa large part of a mining operation; usually one of the top 3 expenditures toamine site, thereforeit is closelyscrutinisedby our clients. Our qualified tyretechniciansprovidea critical operational rolein undertakingplanned and reactive tyre changes, maintenanceandroutine inspections. Assessing wheel components toensure tyresremainin serviceon a range of mobilemining equipment on some of the largest machines in the world is essential. This opportunity will allow you to become a fully qualified OTR (off the road) Tyre Fitter, a position that offers responsibility,development,and diversity of work.

THE ROLE

As a Trainee, your programstarts with a fully paid, industry-leading,theory-basedcourse conducted in one of our in-house training facilities. This includes our tailored mine site readiness program in Perth WA for the initial 4 weeks. After completion,you will be guaranteed a role at one of our many mine sites nationally where you will continue your on-the-job training. The rosters vary, though generally are family friendly. You will receive guaranteed generous wage increases at each stage of training milestones and development.
