Job summary

Rockhampton Regional Council invites applications for a Treatment Plant Operator Trainee in Rockhampton. You will study towards a Certificate III in Water Industry Treatment over a 24-month term and gain hands-on experience monitoring and analysing water and sewage treatment processes under experienced staff.

This role focuses on safety, following procedures, and learning to operate plant assets. You will need a current C Class driver’s licence, be aged 16 or older, and meet citizen/residency

Monday to Friday, 76 hours per fortnight, 9 day fortnight

Your new role

Fitzroy River Water has an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join their team as a Treatment Plant Operator Trainee to study towards a Certificate III in Water Industry Treatment which has a 24-month nominal study term.

With hands-on mentoring from qualified staff, you will learn how to monitor and analyse water and/or sewage treatment plant processes and the status of other key water and sewerage system assets.

Council is committed to providing progression opportunities during the traineeship. This progression is based on the trainee’s completion of required modules and development of practical skills within the required timeframe.

This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).
