A leading multi model logistics business is looking for a Transport Assistant to join their Milton Keynes depot. As a Transport Assistant with a range of admin, customer service and operations duties. The role will be a development role looking to develop the right candidate to be a Transport Planner so would be ideal for an ambitious candidate looking to develop a career in Transport.

As a Transport Assistant you will assist with the day to day running of vehicles to ensure prompt and on time deliveries to customers. You will be required to update transport systems to track vehicle, trailer and job status to meet delivery timings. You will ensure vehicles and trailers are serviced and MOT'd before being used and assist drivers in managing their hours and break requirements to be compliant at all times. You will also be required to assist drivers and customers with queries and any issues that arise during a route.

The right candidate will be an excellent communicator; confident; able to work under pressure and be willing to learn. As this is a trainee role our client is open to look at different industry experience or someone who has recently completed their education. The right candidate will be a confident IT user ideally across all Microsoft packages.

The role will be based in their Ipswich depot andand the working hours will be on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern (6am - 6pm). During the training period the working pattern will be Monday - Friday on a regular day shift; due to the nature of the business there will be a need for some flexibility.On offer is a salary of £22,000 - £25,000 per annum. The company can offer a friendly working environment; additional company benefits and will look to train the individual to become a planner within their team.

The role will be based in their Ipswich depot and the working hours will be Monday to Friday on a 2 week rotation of Week 1 - 7am-5pm and Week 2 8am-6pm. Some flexibility will be required due to the nature of the role in logistics and start and finish times may adjust slightly.On offer is a salary of£18,000 - £21,000 per annum depending on experience as well as a number of company benefits and real career and salary growth through the first 12 months.
