Job summary

Subsea Technology & Rentals (STR) in Perth, Australia seeks a motivated Trainee Survey Technician to support the Survey team in achieving day-to-day objectives. Based in our Technical & Operations division, you will assist with equipment preparation, testing, and event coordination for client deliveries.

The role requires maths/science/tech background or engineering degree with 1+ year experience, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work both in teams and independently.

  • High standard of QHSE in the workplace.
  • Ability to work as a team taking directions.
  • Ability to work independently and confidently when representing the company at client premises.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing and testing of equipment prior to rental and post hire.
  • Function testing, software/firmware updates, cable integrity.
  • Ensuring completeness of equipment against packing lists.
  • Checking, inspecting, and documenting equipment returned from hire.
  • Visual inspection, function testing and writing technical reports.
  • Identification of in-house or external repair tasks.
  • Preparing all assets to ensure they are ready for delivery to clients at short notice.
  • General warehouse and delivery duties.
  • Checking, inspecting and documenting equipment on mobilisation.
  • Setup, interface, function test on mobilisation.
  • Troubleshoot to successful conclusion.
  • Assist offshore survey team as required.
  • Demobilise, check, inspect and document equipment prior to dispatch back to base.
  • Attend offshore training and undergo an offshore medical.
