Job summary

SESLHD is offering a 13-month temporary full-time traineeship at Garrawarra Centre to complete a nationally recognised Certificate III in Health Services Assistance while working as a Trainee Assistant in Nursing. The role includes a rotating 24/7 roster and the theoretical component is delivered by TAFE NSW, with paid attendance.

Commencement is 8 February 2027. Applicants should be 18+ at program start, and entry is targeted to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander candidates.

Qualifications

• Current First Aid Certificate, or willingness to obtain before commencement in February 2027.
• Good written and verbal communications skills.
• Proven ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to follow directions.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care activities to residents with dementia under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Provide support to the nursing team in delivering nursing care in an acute care environment as directed by the Registered Nurse.
