Job summary

New Venture Recruitment is seeking a Trainee Revit Draftsperson to join a leading Tier I mechanical contractor in Canberra, supporting a major defence project. You’ll work in a drafting and engineering team, developing Revit skills and gaining hands-on experience in mechanical drafting, BIM and building services.

Ideal candidates have foundational Revit experience from TAFE, further education or early drafting roles, and a strong desire to learn from seasoned professionals on large-scale HVAC

Responsibilities

• Support the Drafting & Engineering team with Revit modelling and drawing production.

• Assist with coordinating ductwork, pipework, plant and associated mechanical services.
• Work collaboratively with engineers, project teams and site personnel to support project delivery.
• Develop your technical drafting skills with guidance from experienced professionals.

The Opportunity

An opportunity is available for a Trainee Revit Draftsperson to join a leading Tier I mechanical contractor in Canberra, supporting the delivery of a major defence project.

Working alongside an experienced Drafting & Engineering team, you’ll develop your Revit skills while gaining practical exposure to the mechanical construction industry. This role is ideal for someone with a foundation in Revit who wants to build a long-term career in mechanical drafting, BIM and building services.

Whether you’ve gained your Revit experience through TAFE, further education or an initial role in drafting, this is an opportunity to learn from experienced professionals and contribute to a significant project.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Drafting & Engineering team with Revit modelling and drawing production.
• Assist in developing detailed HVAC workshop drawings for construction.

• Any knowledge of mechanical HVAC systems or construction drawings would be beneficial, but is not essential.
• Must be an Australian citizen and willing to undergo the required security clearance process due to the nature of the defence project.
