Job summary

St Vincent’s Health Australia invites graduates to join its Trainee Clinical Coder Program across Mater Hospital North Sydney, St Vincent’s Private Hospital Sydney and Griffith Hospital. You will learn to assign clinical codes with formal training from HIS, within a national, supportive team.

Hybrid work options may be available after onboarding, with remote and onsite training supported by experienced mentors aiming to launch your coding career.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in health information/coding.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
• Excellent comprehension and communication skills.
• Familiarity with medical terminology or coding principles.

Responsibilities

• Participate in structured Trainee Clinical Coder program.
• Learn to apply ICD-10-AM/ACHI/ACS classifications and coding standards.
• Develop understanding of hospital casemix, funding models and data quality.
• Contribute to education, audits and performance improvements.
