Job summary

City of Parramatta is seeking a Traffic and Transport Executive Engineer to manage its local traffic network and deliver projects that support safe, sustainable outcomes for the community.

You will provide expert technical advice, assess development proposals and handle funding, while contributing to strategic planning and policy.

The role offers hybrid work, a competitive salary from 134,967 to 148,574 plus 12% superannuation and a 3.5% Civil Liability Allowance under the Local Government Award.

Qualifications

• Strong technical and leadership experience in traffic engineering and land use planning.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to manage complex, sensitive and high-priority issues.

Responsibilities

• Manage traffic and transport projects, including funding and reporting.
• Assess development applications and major development proposals, providing specialist traffic advice.
• Provide input into strategic planning, policies and transport initiatives.
• Lead and contribute to multidisciplinary projects across Council.
• Prepare clear technical advice and briefs for internal and external stakeholders.
• Negotiate and resolve complex traffic and transport matters with a range of stakeholders.
• Represent Council at relevant forums, including the NSW Land and Environment Court.
