Job summary

Public Sector People are recruiting an Asset Protection Permit Officer to support councils in the East and southeastern suburbs on a 3-month temporary contract. The role is hybrid, offering administrative focus and exposure to permit development and enforcement processes.

You will review permit applications, assess traffic management plans, liaise with public authorities, developers and contractors, and update case records while delivering strong customer service.

Qualifications

• Strong administrative background with proven clerical skills.
• Traffic management experience is essential.
• Ability to read, design, implement and assess traffic management plans.
• Experience with councils or public authorities is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Review and assess Asset Protection and permit applications, including appeals against unsuccessful applications.
• Assess permit and consent requests from Public Authorities, developers and contractors, ensuring applications meet Council requirements.
• Review Traffic Management Plans and identify where additional permits, approvals or referrals to other Council departments are required.
• Process a range of applications and requests.
• Assist with updating the database with results of investigations, recommendations and legal notices.
• Provide outstanding customer service by dealing with incoming queries.
• Educate the community around Local Laws and other relevant regulation and Acts that protect amenity and infrastructure.

Duration: 3-month temporary contract
Rate: Band 4
Working arrangement: Hybrid

Key Responsibilities

• Review and assess Asset Protection and related permit applications, including appeals against unsuccessful applications.
• Assess permit and consent requests from Public Authorities, developers and contractors, ensuring applications meet Council requirements.
• Review Traffic Management Plans and identify where additional permits, approvals or referrals to other Council departments are required.
• Process a range of applications and requests
• Assist with updating the database with results of investigations, recommendations and legal notices
• Provide outstanding customer service by dealing with incoming queries
• Where appropriate, educate the community around Local Laws and other relevant regulation and Acts that protect the amenity and infrastructure of the community

• Local council experience is highly regarded
