Job summary

TTW is seeking an experienced Traffic Engineer to join our Sydney consultancy. You will work on large and complex development projects across public and private sectors, with exposure to modelling and operations planning.

The ideal candidate has Australian engineering qualifications, hands-on SIDRA experience, and strong report writing and stakeholder communication skills. You will join a collaborative national team delivering smart, sustainable transport solutions.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a traffic engineer in consultancy or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of traffic engineering principles and standards.
• Experience with development applications and construction-phase documentation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare traffic reporting for development applications (REFs, DAs, SSDAs).
• Coordinate design with external consultants and internal teams; perform SIDRA analyses.
• Prepare Construction Traffic Management Plans and site inspections.
• Model intersections and analyse trip generation for developments.

We are seeking an experienced and passionate professional Traffic Engineer to join our growing Sydney consultancy.

We are seeking an experienced and passionate professional Traffic Engineer to join our growing Sydney consultancy. This role provides an exciting and challenging opportunity to enjoy exposure to a wide breadth of large & complex projects in both the public and private sectors.

What does the day to day look like?

• Preparing traffic reporting for development applications including REFs, local DAs or SSDAs
• Coordinating designs with external consultants such as architects or internal civil and structural teams including swept path analysis, review of compliance with AS2890 suite of standards and preparation of PDF markups
• Preparation of construction phase documentation such as Construction Traffic Management Plans and site inspections of completed works
• Preparing SIDRA intersection models and analysing trip generation of developments
• Working collaboratively with other TTW offices including Melbourne, Brisbane and Canberra

What are we looking for?

The ideal candidate for this role will possess demonstrated experience in a similar role and ideally experience within a consultancy environment. Additionally, we are looking for someone who possesses exposure to traffic modelling to forecast the effects of road improvements or public transport schemes, assessment of pedestrian systems for walking or cycling, designing and interpreting transport and travel surveys, Roads and Maritime Service project design and excellent analytical skills.

In addition to the above, you will also possess:

• Australian tertiary engineering qualification displaying a strong academic record and preferably registered with NER;
• Hands on experience with SIDRA and other network modelling programs;
• The ability to communicate well with senior management, authorities and clients coupled with excellent report writing skills;
• Strong commercial acumen and outstanding consulting track record;
• A sound understanding of regulatory requirements for Roads and Maritime Services' approvals, significant state developments and council approved projects; and
• The ability to manage the workload of multiple projects.
