Job summary

SCH Labour Hire is hiring a Traffic Controller for Melbourne. You will manage traffic with a stop-slow bat, set up and dismantle signs and barriers, and maintain safety for the public and workers.

You will communicate with site supervisors and crews to ensure smooth, safe operations. Essential qualifications include RIIWHS205E and RIIWHS302E, White Card, and a valid driver’s licence with reliable transport.

Qualifications

• Essential traffic controller and TMP qualifications.
• White Card and valid driver licence required.
• Experience on VicRoads / DTP road or arterial jobs is desirable.
• Safety-focused, reliable and punctual at all times.

Responsibilities

• Controlling traffic safely with a stop-slow bat.
• Setting up and packing down signs, cones and barriers to the TMP.
• Keeping the public, workers and plant safe around the work zone.
• Talking clearly with site supervisors, crews and the public.
• Following site safety procedures at all times.

About you

• RIIWHS205E – Control traffic with stop-slow bat (Traffic Controller), or an earlier equivalent version (essential)


• RIIWHS302E – Implement traffic management plan (essential)


• Construction Induction Card (White Card) (essential)


• Current driver's licence and reliable transport (essential)


• Experience on VicRoads/DTP road or arterial jobs (desirable)


• Reliable, punctual and safety-focused


• Physically fit and able to stand outdoors for long shifts in all weather


• Your own steel-capped boots
