Job summary

Stabilised Pavements Australia is seeking a Traffic Controller for the Central Coast/Newcastle region. The role involves directing traffic flow and ensuring safety for drivers, pedestrians and site workers. Night and weekend work with travel required may be involved.

Candidates should hold a valid driver's licence, White Card, and TCR/IMP with PWZ for potential team-leader duties. Construction site safety and reliable punctuality are essential, with a focus on safety compliance and professional

Qualifications

• Current and valid Driver's Licence and own transport.
• Construction Industry Safety Induction Licence (White Card).
• TCR and IMP tickets; PWZ ticket to act as team leader when required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate, setting up, managing and removing traffic control.
• Direct traffic around works.
• Direct pedestrians to maintain safety around changed road conditions.
• Operate signs, such as stop-slow baton, using hand signals.
• Set up and take down temporary road signs.
• Communicate clearly with team members and the public to maintain safety.
• Use portable traffic control device and/or stop/slow baton.
• Assist in ensuring compliance with WH&S and environmental requirements at the worksite.

About the role

As a Traffic Controller for SPA you will be responsible in directing the flow and speed of vehicles and to ensure the safety of drivers, pedestrians and workers. We are looking for someone who is physically fit, punctual, flexible and with a positive attitude. You will be a reliable team player, who is happy to travel and work nights/weekends.

Duties

Skills & Experience

• Traffic Control Experience would be great but not essential!


• Civil Road Construction experience (desirable but not essential)


• Commitment to safety protocols and attention to detail

• Appropriate PPE and two-way radio
