Job summary

Express Employment Professionals – Sydney NSW is seeking a confident Trades Assistant for a busy installation team in Penrith. This casual/temporary role starts early and may require overtime.

You will assist with balustrades, handrails and related installations, read plans, and use hand and power tools. Work with tradespeople or independently, keeping a safe, organised site. A White Card is essential and reliable transport is preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Trades Assistant or similar hands-on role.
• Experience using hand and power tools.
• Ability to read and understand plans/drawings.
• Balustrade/handrail installations knowledge is advantageous.
• Strong attention to detail and safe working habits.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good physical fitness.

$42 per hour

We are currently seeking a confident and experienced Trades Assistant to join a busy installation team in Penrith.

This role would suit someone who is hands-on, reliable and able to work independently, with experience using both hand and power tools. You will assist with the installation of balustrades, handrails and other associated products, working from plans and following installation requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the installation of balustrades, handrails and associated structures
• Use a range of hand and power tools safely and confidently
• Read and interpret plans, drawings and measurements
• Measure, mark out and prepare materials for installation
• Work alongside tradespeople while also being able to work independently
• Ensure installations are completed accurately and to a high standard
• Maintain a safe, clean and organised work area
• Follow all workplace health and safety procedures
• Carry out other general trades assistance duties as required

About You

The successful candidate will have:

• Previous experience as a Trades Assistant or similar hands-on role
• Experience using hand and power tools
• The ability to read and understand plans/drawings
• Experience or knowledge of balustrade, handrail or similar installations highly regarded
• Strong attention to detail and pride in your work
• The confidence to work independently with minimal supervision
• A reliable and positive attitude
• Good physical fitness and the ability to work in a hands-on environment
• A strong commitment to workplace safety
