Job summary

Hawk Logistics is seeking qualified Trade Assistants to join our Victorian workshops across multiple sites. Various shifts—day, afternoon, night, and weekends—are available. We offer a supportive team culture and a competitive remuneration package.

You will assist with servicing, repairs and preventative maintenance of heavy vehicles, use hand and power tools, and help with inspections under supervision. Applicants must be entitled to work in Australia and be prepared for background checks.

Qualifications

  • Experience around trucks or heavy vehicles is highly regarded.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and interest in heavy vehicle maintenance.
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools and workshop equipment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with servicing and preventive maintenance of heavy vehicles.
  • Perform general workshop duties under supervision of qualified mechanics and the Workshop Manager.
  • Use hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment safely.
  • Keep accurate records of service and repairs.

We have multiple opportunities for qualified Trade Assistants, to join Hawk Logistics in one of its three Victorian based workshops.

Day, Afternoon, Night Shift & weekend work all available.

You will be responsible for:
  • Assisting with servicing, repairs and preventative maintenance of heavy vehicles and workshop equipment.
  • Performing general mechanical workshop duties under the direction of qualified mechanics and the Workshop Manager.
  • Using hand tools, power tools and workshop equipment safely and appropriately.
  • Assisting with vehicle inspections, preventative maintenance and general workshop checks.
  • Keeping accurate records of service and repairs.
To be successful in this role you will have:
  • Experience working around trucks, heavy vehicles, trailers or mobile plant is highly regarded.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and a genuine interest in developing a career in heavy vehicle maintenance.
  • Familiarity with hand tools, power tools and general workshop equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability working within a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to safely follow instructions and work under the direction of qualified mechanics and supervisors.
  • All applicants must be entitled to work in Australia and be prepared to undergo a criminal history check, pre-employment medical and/or drug & alcohol testing as required.
