Job summary

UBS is seeking a Securities Specialist EE to join the Client and Trade Support team in Sydney. You’ll own operational support for NZ equities trading and assist the Australian cash equities business, ensuring accurate trade data and front-to-back controls.

You’ll liaise with clients, brokers and internal teams, perform risk reporting and reconciliations, and contribute to process improvements while upholding regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Middle office background in an investment bank or buy-side firm.
• Strong understanding of the equities trade lifecycle from capture to settlements.
• Proven capability performing front-to-back controls, daily risk reporting and reconciliations.
• Skill in investigating and resolving trade exceptions, booking discrepancies and breaks.
• Confident liaison with clients, brokers, custodians and internal teams.
• Solid knowledge of operational risk frameworks, escalation and control improvements.
• Curiosity about applying AI to improve workflows while adhering to policies.

The team

You’ll be working in the Client and Trade Support team within Securities Middle Office, supporting Australia and New Zealand Equities trading desks and corporate client deal teams. We provide the infrastructure that helps the business deliver premium client service while meeting regulatory requirements and maintaining a strong internal control framework. You’ll partner closely with Trading, Sales, Clients, Operations, and Technology in a fast-paced market environment where ownership, clear communication, and risk management matter.

Your Skills And Experience

To succeed in this role, you bring:

• Middle office background within an investment bank or buy-side firm
• Strong understanding of the equities trade lifecycle, from trade capture through settlements and corporate actions
• Proven capability performing front-to-back controls, daily risk reporting, and T+1 reconciliations
• Skill investigating and resolving trade exceptions, booking discrepancies, and trade economics breaks
• Confidence liaising with clients, brokers, custodians, and internal stakeholders to drive timely outcomes
• Solid knowledge of operational risk frameworks, including escalation, root-cause resolution, and control improvements
• Ideally familiarity with Australian and New Zealand market practices and regulatory environments
• A proactive, detail-oriented, resilient working style with a continuous improvement mindset
