Job summary

Grove Hire in Narangba, Queensland, is seeking a hands-on maintenance technician to assist with refurbishment, repairs and preparation of our modular and portable building fleet. The role requires practical trade skills across carpentry, basic plumbing and general repairs, with a strong safety focus.

Based at our Narangba branch, you will service the hire fleet, attend customer sites when required, and support installations, modifications and maintenance works.

Qualifications

• Highly skilled in carpentry and general building maintenance

• White Card
• Current Driver Licence
• Working at heights (not essential but highly regarded)
• Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
• Experience in modular buildings, portable buildings, commercial fit-outs or building maintenance (highly regarded)

Responsibilities

• Refurbishment, repair and internal fit-outs of modular and portable buildings.
• General carpentry, plumbing, building maintenance and handyman repairs.
• Identify faults and maintenance requirements and complete repairs and rectification works.
• Rectification of customer damage and preparation of assets for rehire.
• Modification and upgrading of existing hire assets.
• Prepare buildings and equipment for transport, installation and hire.
• Attend customer sites to assist with installation, modification, maintenance and off-hire works.
• Operate forklifts, tools and other equipment safely and correctly.
• Conduct quality inspections and ensure completed assets meet Grove Hire's safety and quality standards.
• Assist with proactive maintenance to improve asset condition and extend asset life.

Working as part of our Operations team, you will assist with the maintenance, refurbishment, repair and preparation of our modular and portable building fleet.

This is a hands‑on role requiring someone with strong practical trade skills across building maintenance, carpentry, basic plumbing and general repairs. A formal trade qualification is not essential, however practical experience, capability, workmanship and a strong safety focus is essential.

Based at our Narangba branch, you will work across our hire fleet, attend customer sites when required, supporting building installations, modifications and maintenance works.

Safety is a critical part of this role. You will be expected to work safely and contribute to a strong safety culture across both our yard and customer sites.
