Technaus Solar in Melbourne is seeking Trade Assistants to join our installation team on a full-time basis. You will assist with residential and commercial solar and battery installations, while gaining hands-on experience alongside our electricians and solar installers.

With White Card and a current Australian Driver's Licence, you’ll help with loading, prepping materials, roof work and site safety. This role offers a competitive salary and clear path to senior roles and apprenticeships.

Qualifications

• Experience in construction, roofing or labouring is preferred.
• Must have White Card and a current Australian driver’s licence.
• Physically capable of demanding work and heights.

Responsibilities

• Assist residential and commercial solar installations.
• Load, unload and prepare materials and equipment.

• Complete site prep and cleanup and accurate documentation.

We are looking for motivated and reliable Trade Assistants to join our installation team on a full-time basis. Working alongside our experienced electricians and solar installers, you will assist with residential and commercial solar and battery installations while gaining valuable hands‑on experience in the industry.

Salary & Career Opportunities

Our Trade Assistants can earn between $65,000 and $80,000 per year, depending on experience and skills.

We also provide ongoing training and career development opportunities, with the potential to progress into senior installation roles and apprenticeships for the right candidates.

About the Role

As a Trade Assistant at Technaus Solar, you will work closely with our installation crews and assist with the installation of solar and battery systems across Melbourne.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Assisting with residential and commercial solar installations.
• Loading, unloading and preparing materials and equipment.
• Assisting with lifting and positioning solar panels.
• Supporting electricians and installers during installations.
• Carrying out basic roof work under supervision.
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe worksite.
• Conducting site preparation and clean‑up.
• Following all workplace health and safety requirements.
• Maintaining accurate job records and completing required documentation.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

• Previous experience in construction, roofing, labouring, solar, or a similar trade (preferred but not essential).
• White Card (essential).
• Current Australian Driver's Licence.
• Ability to perform physically demanding work and work comfortably at heights.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
