Job summary

Clayton’s Towing Service on the Sunshine Coast is looking for a motivated Trade Assistant to support our busy workshop team. You will assist mechanics, prepare vehicles and equipment, and help keep the workshop safe and organised.

This hands-on role suits someone who enjoys practical work, values safety, and can work both independently and with a team. Possessing a current Australian driver's license is essential, with forklift and HR licences desirable.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Trade Assistant, Labourer or in a workshop environment.
• A strong work ethic and positive attitude.
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Strong focus on safety and attention to detail.
• A current and unrestricted Australian Driver’s Licence.
• Forklift Licence (desirable but not essential).
• HR Licence (desirable but not essential).
• Ability to undertake manual handling and physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Assisting mechanics and tradespeople with servicing, repairs and maintenance.
• Preparing vehicles, equipment, tools and parts for workshop activities.
• General workshop housekeeping and maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
• Cleaning, detailing and presenting vehicles and equipment.
• Conducting basic mechanical tasks under supervision.
• Picking up and delivering parts as required.
• Assisting with stock control and workshop organisation.
• Supporting breakdown and fleet maintenance activities as directed.
• Following workplace health and safety procedures at all times.
