Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service in Atherton is seeking a Trade Assistant within Building, Engineering and Maintenance Services. The role supports trades in general duties and helps maintain health service facilities.
You will work under supervision across electrical, plumbing, carpentry scopes, adhering to safety standards and statutory checks. The position offers a healthy work environment in Far North Queensland.

Infrastructure Asset Management (IAM) provides planning, construction, operation and maintenance of all Health Service physical facilities, engineering systems, plant and equipment to meet strategic objectives within a quality environment.
IAM is staffed with professional, trade, operational, and administrative staff. Trades include electrical, fitting, plumbing, carpentry, refrigeration, trade assistants and apprentices.
The unit is accountable for facility maintenance and asset management in CHHHS and ensures all clinical and administrative buildings are compliant with statutory checks and inspections necessary to comply with Acts, Regulations, Codes of Practice and Australian Standards. IAM provides a 24-hour corrective maintenance and breakdown service for the facilities around the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service
