Job summary

Downer Swanbank workshop is seeking a Mechanical Trade Assistant to support mechanics and fabricators with day-to-day maintenance tasks. You will help keep our fleet and equipment safe and ready for operation in a fast-paced workshop environment.

Responsibilities include basic servicing, parts handling, and assisting with fabrication tasks while upholding strong safety and housekeeping standards. Applicants should have relevant hands-on mechanical experience and a current driving licence.

Qualifications

• Current and valid Driver's Licence.
• Experience operating both manual and automatic vehicles.
• Experience in automotive mechanical, fabrication, maintenance, or a similar hands-on trade environment.

About the Role

What You'll Bring

Mandatory Requirements

• Current and valid Driver's Licence
• Experience operating both manual and automatic vehicles

Highly Desirable

• MR Driver's Licence (or willingness to obtain)
• Forklift Licence (or willingness to obtain)
• Experience working in a stores or parts environment
• Small engine repair and maintenance experience
