Job summary

Hawkesbury City Council is seeking a planning professional to assess Development Applications and deliver excellent customer service. The role supports the Local Planning Panel with decision-making and may involve providing expert evidence in the Land and Environment Court of NSW.

The successful candidate will hold tertiary planning qualifications, have experience with development assessments, and comply with NSW planning laws, WHS guidelines, and WWCC requirements.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Town Planning or a related discipline.
• Experience in the assessment of Development Applications.
• Strong knowledge of the Environmental Planning & Assessment Act 1979 and Local Government Act 1993.
• Willingness to undergo background checks and medical declarations.

Responsibilities

The Role

Reporting to the Coordinator Town Planning, this position isresponsible for the assessment of Development Applications and associatedcustomer service functions, assists the Local Planning Panel in theirconsideration of Development Applications and provision of expert evidence inthe Land and Environment Court of NSW.

You will demonstrate a strong commitment to customerexcellence with your interpersonal and negotiation skills and work with thecommunity with strong written and verbal communication while handling yourworkload with outstanding time management. You will positively contribute tothe team culture and help achieve success through positively contributingtowards business improvements.

• Tertiary qualifications in Town Planning or arelated discipline
• Relevant experience in the assessment ofdevelopment applications
• Comprehensive knowledge of the EnvironmentPlanning & Assessment Act 1979 and Local Government Act 1993 and associatedlegislation and regulations as they relate to development assessment
• Experience with complex and/or contentiousdevelopments is desirable
• The right to live and workin Australia
• Class C Drivers Licence
• WHS General ConstructionWork in NSW
• Working with ChildrenCheck (WWCC)
