Job summary

Hutchies’ Crane & Hoist team is seeking skilled Tower Crane Electrical Technicians to join our Ormeau, QLD yard on a full-time permanent basis. The role focuses on electrical installation, maintenance and fault-finding for tower cranes and hoists, with emphasis on safety and quality workmanship.

Ideal candidates will have experience with industrial control systems, PLCs and automation, plus a current QLD Electrical Licence and Electrician qualification.

Qualifications

• Experience with tower cranes, construction hoists or similar heavy electrical equipment.
• Electrical maintenance, fault-finding, servicing and installation work.
• Experience with PLCs, VSDs and automation/industrial control systems is a plus.
• Current Queensland Electrical Licence and Electrician trade qualification

Responsibilities

• Carry out electrical installation, maintenance, servicing, fault-finding and repairs on tower cranes and hoists.
• Diagnose electrical, control and automation faults and implement solutions to minimise downtime.
• Conduct routine inspections, testing and preventive maintenance per Australian Standards and Hutchies procedures.
• Assist with assembly, commissioning, decommissioning and refurbishment of cranes and hoists on yard sites and projects.
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and technical documentation.
• Develop, modify and upgrade electrical panels and control circuits.
• Commission, test and troubleshoot completed projects and installations.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and compliance documentation.
• Ensure all work complies with safety requirements and Hutchies policies.
• Collaborate with Crane & Hoist Team and project stakeholders for safe project delivery.
• Contribute to reliability and performance of Hutchies' crane and hoist fleet.
