Carmel College, the only co-educational Catholic secondary college on Redlands Coast, seeks a Learning & Teaching Middle Leader - Japanese. You will design curriculum, lead pedagogy, supervise staff, and drive data-informed decisions within a values-driven Catholic context.

This continuing teaching appointment offers Middle Leader Allowance, initial term to 2029 with potential extensions, and a supportive BCE environment with professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years teaching experience.
• Experience developing work programs aligned with national, state and local requirements.

Summary

Carmel College is Seeking a Learning & Teaching Middle Leader - Japanese. The Learning & Teaching Leader will support the school’s mission by leading learning and teaching through curriculum design, effective pedagogy, staff supervision, data-informed decision-making, strategic partnerships, and responsible resource management.

This is a continuing teaching appointment,with an initial appointment into the Middle Leader position including Middle Leader Allowance, concluding at the end of the current triennium (December 2029). Two subsequent three-year appointments with the Middle Leader Allowance can be offered subject to satisfactory performance in the position and the ongoing existence of the position.

About the opportunity

In this position you will be responsible for:

• Coordinating the development of work program(s) according to national, state and local requirements
• Coordinating assessments, moderations and reporting programs
• Coordinating and managing a specified curriculum area
• Regularly communicating with stakeholders around issues and future plans
• Managing financial and material resources within the area of responsibility, including formulation of budgets and expending allocated funds.

About you

To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:

• Minimum of 5 years teaching experience
• Developed work programs in alignment with national, state, and localrequirements.
• Coordinated work programs within a school
• Helped drive the assessment and moderation process
• Coordinated and/or assisted to manage a curriculum area
• Stakeholder engagement fostering collaboration and transparency.
• Driving the assessment and moderation process when developing new programs.
• Leading and innovating within a specified curriculum area.
• Developed and maintained a financial budget.
• For this positionyou are not required to be Catholic.

Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements:

• Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
• Current registration with Queensland College of Teachers (QCT).
