Job summary

NewTruss is seeking a motivated Saw Operator to join our Cardiff-based manufacturing team. You’ll safely cut and process timber products, operate saws and woodworking machinery, and work with the production team to meet daily targets in a safe environment.

We value reliability, safety, and practical hands-on work, with opportunities to build skills in a growing production operation. Pre-employment checks, including drug and alcohol screening, may be part of the recruitment process.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing, production or timber processing.
• Desirable experience operating a razor saw.
• Ability to safely operate machinery, tools and equipment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
• Proactive focus on workplace health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Operate timber saws and woodworking machinery safely and efficiently.
• Set up and adjust saws according to timber sizes and production requirements.
• Cut and process timber accurately while maintaining quality and dimensions.
• Inspect timber for defects before and after cutting.
• Follow health and safety procedures and use PPE correctly.
• Perform routine cleaning, maintenance and basic troubleshooting of saws and equipment.
• Collaborate with production team to meet daily targets and deadlines.
