Job summary

Alpha Timber is seeking a Sales Representative to drive new business and manage relationships with trade customers including builders and contractors. The role focuses on promoting timber and building products, understanding project needs, and delivering suitable product and supply solutions.

Key responsibilities include developing opportunities, maintaining client relationships, preparing quotations, negotiating terms, and coordinating orders.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in B2B sales, business development or account management.
• Experience in timber, building materials, construction products or other trade and industrial products will be highly regarded.
• Strong communication, sales and negotiation skills.
• Ability to understand customer requirements and recommended appropriate product solutions.
• Strong customer relationship and account management skills.
• Good organisational and time management abilities.
• Ability to develop new business and maintain long-term commercial relationships.
• Ability to work independently and as a part of team.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop new business opportunities with builders, contractors, construction businesses and trade customers.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective business clients.
• Meet with customers to understand their project, material and supply requirements.
• Recommend and explain suitable timber, building and associated products based on customer needs.
• Prepare quotations and negotiate pricing, supply arrangements and commercial terms.
• Follow up sales enquiries, quotations and potential business opportunities.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the company's products, market conditions and competitor activities.
• Monitor changing customer requirements and identify opportunities to grow sales across the product range.
• Coordinate customer orders, product availability and delivery requirements with relevant internal teams.
• Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction and assist resolving product or supply-related matters.
