Job summary

PWR Advanced Cooling Technology – Stapylton QLD is expanding and seeking experienced Aluminum TIG welders. You will weld, fabricate and assemble heat exchangers, radiators and other aerospace/motorsport components in aluminum, reading detailed 2D drawings and using jigs/fixtures for precision.

The role requires hands-on welding in a fast-paced environment, potential mentoring of apprentices, and adherence to safety standards.

Qualifications

• Significant experience welding 1.2mm–3mm aluminum.
• Ability to weld fine grade aluminum.
• Able to read and interpret detailed 2D drawings.
• Experience with jig and fixture usage for accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Weld, fabricate and assemble PWR products.
• Prepare cores and assemblies for dispatch.
• Inspect products/materials to established standards.
• Work autonomously or in a team; mentor apprentices.
• Operate lifting equipment incidental to work.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for experienced, Aluminum TIG welders. Ideally you will have experience welding heat exchangers, radiators, intercoolers, oil coolers and other complex components of an aerospace or motorsport nature inAluminum TIG welding.

• Weld, fabricate and assemble PWR products.
• Prepare various cores and assemblies for dispatch.
• Inspect products and/or materials to established operational standards.
• Working autonomously and/or in a team and at times mentor apprentices
• Operate lifting equipment incidental to work.

Your Skills and Experience

• Significant experience in welding 1.2mm - 3mm aluminum.
• Ability to weld fine grade aluminum.
• Able to read and interpret detailed 2D drawings.
• A good understanding of jig and fixture utilisation for accuracy will be highly regarded.
• Able to meet tight timeframes with accuracy and attention to detail.
• The ability to remain calm and focused in a high‑pressure environment.
• Experience welding heat exchangers for the motorsport or aerospace industries will be highly regarded.
• Quality and pride in workmanship.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and tidy workplace.
• Able to troubleshoot problematic jobs.
• Confident in making decisions and working autonomously.
