Job summary

Department of Education & Training, Victoria, is recruiting Thriving Kids Social Workers to support children aged 0–8 and their families. You will provide developmentally informed social work assessments, interventions and practical advice to promote participation and inclusion in daily life across home, early childhood and school settings.

Qualifications

• Registration as a Social Worker is required.
• Knowledge of child development and early intervention.
• Experience with children aged 0–8 and their families.
• Ability to apply evidence-informed social work assessment and advice.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Commitment to culturally safe, inclusive practice.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-informed social work assessment, intervention and advice tailored to each child and family.
• Work with families to build parents' knowledge, skills and confidence for everyday activities.
• Support child participation and inclusion in home, early childhood and school settings.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team across allied health and Thriving Kids roles to coordinate responses.
• Build partnerships with early childhood services, schools and health/community services.
• Contribute to a new service model shaping allied health delivery for 0–8 year olds.
