Job summary

Brightwater invites applicants for the Therapy Assistant (Advanced Skills) role within Community Access Program, North of River. You will coordinate CAP activities, transport clients safely, support outings, and work with a multidisciplinary team to tailor experiences to each resident's goals and wellbeing needs.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or progress towards Allied Health degree.
• WA C Class Driver's Licence required.
• Passenger Transport Driver (PTD) Authorisation required.
• Knowlege of road safety and transport regulations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience engaging with older adults, including dementia or brain injury.
• Strong organisational, problem-solving and prioritisation skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and in multidisciplinary teams.
• National Police Clearance within 12 months.
• NDIS Workers Screening Check current.

Responsibilities

The Opportunity

As a Therapy Assistant (Advanced Skills), you will coordinate and facilitate Brightwater's Community Access Program (CAP), enabling residents to participate in meaningful social, recreational and community activities.

You will safely transport clients, support them during outings, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure experiences are personalised to individual goals, interests and wellbeing needs.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working directly with people, has strong organisational skills and is passionate about enhancing quality of life for older adults.

This role is being recruited on both permanent part-time and casual basis. Ideal candidates will be based North of River.

What you’ll bring

• Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance (Aged Care and/or Disability) or progression towards an Allied Health degree.


• Current WA C Class Driver's Licence.


• Current Passenger Transport Driver (PTD) Authorisation.


• Strong understanding of road safety requirements and transport regulations.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.


• Ability to engage effectively with older adults, including people living with dementia, cognitive impairment or acquired brain injury.


• Strong organisational, problem-solving and prioritisation skills.


• Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team.


• National Police Clearance (within 12 months).


• A valid NDIS Workers Screening Check
