Job summary

Berry Street Yooralla is seeking a Therapeutic Specialist for the Morwell office to provide clinical assessment and intervention to children and young people in residential care. You will coach staff, model therapeutic parenting strategies, and develop reflective practice within the team.

The role focuses on delivering high-quality direct services, reports, and guidance to care teams, with time spent at residential homes to support staff and young people in a therapeutic care environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree level or higher qualification in a Health or Welfare related field such as Occupational Therapy, Psychology, Social Work, Family Therapy, Speech Pathology or related discipline is required
• Significant experience conducting clinical work with children (minimum 2 years).
• You will provide a high standard of complex direct service in the clinical assessment and treatment of children, young people and families.
• Sound decision making skills reflected in excellent clinical judgements.
• A high degree of self-discipline to provide targeted clinical services within strict timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Provide thorough assessment of young people’s current presentations and histories.
• Write comprehensive reports translating findings into practice guidance for residential care staff.
• Collaborate with care teams to achieve goals within a specified time frame.
• Support Residential Care teams to apply the therapeutic model in practice.
