Job summary

Anglicare Victoria is seeking a dedicated Gambler's Help Therapist to support clients in Mildura or Swan Hill. The role focuses on delivering therapeutic counselling across individual, couple, family and group formats to address addiction harms within a compassionate, evidence-based framework.

You will work as part of a team within a large organisation, with travel as needed, access to professional development, and a commitment to inclusivity and resilience. Salary aligns with Level 6 SCHADS.

Qualifications

• Eligibility for membership with professional bodies: Psychology Board of Australia; Australian Association of Social Workers (AMHSW); PACFA in family/relationship therapy or general counselling/psychotherapy sections.
• Full Victorian Drivers Licence.
• Demonstrated experience in individual, couple, family and group counselling addressing addiction behaviours or related fields.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual, couple, family and group counselling to address addiction behaviours and related issues.
• Deliver Gambler's Help therapeutic counselling across modalities and settings as appropriate to client needs.
• Contribute to program delivery, evidencing best practice and safeguarding client wellbeing.

Anglicare Victoria's Gambler's Help program aims to:

Gambler’s Help Therapeutic Counselling aims to minimise the personal, health and social harms for individuals experiencing gambling related harm. This is achieved through the provision of evidence based therapeutic counselling interventions across a range of modalities and practice settings appropriate to individual needs.

How do we assess your application:

• Eligibility for membership with one of the following professional bodies:
  • Provisional registration with Psychology Board of Australia; or
  • Full, graduate or Accredited Mental Health Social Worker (AMHSW) membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers; or
  • Membership with Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) in the family/relationship therapy or general counselling/psychotherapy sections.
• Full Victorian Drivers Licence.
• Demonstrated experience in the provision of individual, couple, family and group counselling designed to address addiction behaviours and its impact or in another related field that is transferable.

• Salary is in line with Level 6 SCHADS, $115,339-$120,437
• Negotiable through the increments dependent upon experience.
• Full-time (1 FTE)
• Office location is: Mildura or Swan Hill.
