Dhelkaya Health in regional Victoria is seeking a dedicated Theatre Technician to support surgical services. The role will assist nursing staff, prep Operating Rooms, maintain safety in the suite, and handle surgical equipment and consumables to ensure smooth patient care.

This ongoing full-time position offers an hourly rate of $41.46+ superannuation with salary packaging options and opportunities for professional development within a supportive health team on the Victorian public sector award

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff and team leaders with patient care and transfers.
• Prepare Operating Rooms for a variety of surgical procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in the Operating Suite.
• Manage oxygen, nitrous oxide, and carbon dioxide cylinders.
• Support setup, maintenance and care of surgical equipment.
• Restock consumables and linen and coordinate deliveries.
• Provide messenger services between the Operating Suite and other areas.
• Participate in cleaning duties and quality improvement activities.
• Uphold confidentiality and comply with policies.

Dhelkaya Health is seeking a dedicated and proactive Theatre Technician to join our team. In this vital role, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality, client-focused care by supporting the smooth operation of our surgical services.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff and team leaders with patient care and transfers within the hospital.
• Prepare Operating Rooms for a variety of surgical procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in the Operating Suite, including mopping floors, removing waste, and handling soiled linen.
• Manage oxygen, nitrous oxide, and carbon dioxide cylinders, ensuring timely replenishment.
• Support the setup, maintenance, and care of surgical equipment.
• Restock consumables and linen, and coordinate deliveries as required.
• Provide messenger services between the Operating Suite and other hospital areas.
• Participate in scheduled cleaning duties, education sessions, and quality improvement activities.
• Uphold strict confidentiality and adhere to all legal and policy requirements.
