Job summary

Dhelkaya Health is seeking a dedicated Theatre Technician to support the smooth operation of our surgical services across Castlemaine and Maldon campuses. You will assist nursing staff, prepare operating rooms, manage sterile and patient-care activities, and ensure safety in the Operating Suite.

The role is ongoing, full-time (or part-time optional per the ad), with an hourly rate of AU$41.46 plus superannuation and salary packaging options.

Responsibilities

• Assist nursing staff and team leaders with patient care and transfers within the hospital.
• Prepare Operating Rooms for a variety of surgical procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in the Operating Suite, including mopping floors, removing waste, and handling soiled linen.
• Manage oxygen, nitrous oxide, and carbon dioxide cylinders, ensuring timely replenishment.
• Support the setup, maintenance, and care of surgical equipment.
• Restock consumables and linen, and coordinate deliveries as required.
• Provide messenger services between the Operating Suite and other hospital areas.
• Participate in scheduled cleaning duties, education sessions, and quality improvement activities.
• Uphold strict confidentiality and adhere to all legal and policy requirements.
