Job summary

A key player in Defence projects is seeking a Test and Evaluation (T&E) Practitioner for a pivotal role in Canberra. This position involves developing strategies for testing while ensuring compliance with Defence policies. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in the Defence industry and hold a current security clearance. Competitive salary range is offered.

Base pay range

A$140,000.00/yr - A$170,000.00/yr

Join our Downer Professional Services team and play a key role in delivering complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australia's future.

Downer Professional Services is comprised of two business units, our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice and Team Downer, a major service partner to Defence. Together, we are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for our clients in Defence and National Security.

We currently have an opportunity for a Test and Evaluation (T&E) Practitioner to join the Land C4 Program.

What You'll Do

• Drafting, reviewing and maintaining Test and Evaluation Strategy (TES), Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP) and T&E related artifacts and engaging with various stakeholders.
• Test and evaluation, certification and systems assurance, and T&E in the One Defence Capability System (ODCS).
• Preview Test and Evaluation (PT&E), Developmental Test and Evaluation (DT&E), Acceptance Test and Evaluation (AT&E), Operational Test and Evaluation (OT&E) and In-Service Test & Evaluation (In-Service T&E).
• T&E planning, management & reporting, technical and professional advice.
• Risk management and Verification and & Validation (V&V), and undertaking system T&E or trial tasks and draft T&E Reports.
• Understanding of Defence T&E framework, policies, processes and plans, and familiarity with CASG T&E Systems Engineering policy.

What You'll Bring

• Relevant and recent T&E experience within the Defence industry
• Good understanding of Defence T&E Systems Engineering concepts;
• Understanding of the One Defence Capability System (formerly the Capability Life Cycle)
• Previous & current experience and thorough understanding of T&E policies.
• Current/active T&E accreditation (preferred)

Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth. In some instances, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may also be an inherent requirement.
