Job summary

Cathara Consulting is seeking an experienced Test Analyst to support end-to-end testing activities across a portfolio of digital transformation initiatives, ensuring technology solutions meet business requirements, functional specifications and quality expectations.

Based in Darwin on a 6-month contract, you will work closely with project managers, business analysts, developers and vendors to plan, prepare, execute and report on testing across all phases of the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology or related discipline.
• ISTQB Foundation Certification or equivalent testing qualification.
• Experience as a Test Analyst on medium to large ICT projects.
• Experience with test management tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test cases, scripts, and scenarios across all testing phases.
• Review requirements to ensure adequate test coverage.
• Perform system, integration, regression, and UAT testing.
• Identify, track and help resolve defects throughout the SDLC.
• Prepare test documentation including plans and traceability artifacts.
• Provide testing progress, risks, and outcomes reporting.

Cathara Consulting is seeking an experienced Test Analyst to support end-to-end testing activities across a portfolio of digital transformation initiatives, ensuring technology solutions meet business requirements, functional specifications and quality expectations.

You will work closely with Project Managers, Business Analysts, Developers, vendors and business stakeholders to plan, prepare, execute and report on testing activities across all phases of the project lifecycle.

This is a 6-month contract opportunity based in Darwin.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test cases, test scripts and test scenarios across all phases of testing.
• Review business, functional and technical requirements to ensure adequate test coverage.
• Perform system, integration, regression, User Acceptance Testing (UAT) support and production verification testing.
• Identify, document, track and support the resolution of defects throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Prepare and maintain test documentation, including test plans, test cases, execution results and traceability artefacts.
• Conduct test data preparation, validation and reconciliation activities.
• Collaborate with project teams, vendors and business stakeholders to ensure quality outcomes.
• Provide accurate reporting on testing progress, risks, issues and outcomes.
• Support testing governance, quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Contribute to successful project delivery through effective testing practices and early identification of risks.

About You

• Tertiary qualifications in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related discipline.
• ISTQB Foundation Certification or equivalent testing qualification.
• Demonstrated experience as a Test Analyst within medium to large ICT projects.
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, SDLC and quality assurance principles.
• Experience developing and executing test cases, test scripts and test plans.
• Experience using test and defect management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps or equivalent.
• Experience performing functional, integration, regression and UAT.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and defect investigation skills.
• Experience validating data and working with SQL or similar database technologies.
• Experience working on complex integrations or multi-system environments is highly regarded.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and DevOps practices is desirable.
• Exposure to test automation tools and non-functional testing is desirable.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
• Excellent attention to detail with the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced program environment.
