Job summary

SRA Information Technology in Darwin is seeking an experienced Test Analyst for a six-month contract to deliver a major digital transformation program supporting public sector services.

This hands-on role covers the full testing lifecycle across multiple projects and environments, collaborating with project managers, business analysts, developers, vendors and stakeholders to ensure quality outcomes and risk management.

Qualifications

• Tertiary IT qualification.
• ISTQB Foundation or equivalent.
• Experience as Test Analyst on ICT projects.
• Knowledge of testing methodologies and SDLC.
• Experience creating/executing test plans and test cases.
• Experience with Jira or Azure DevOps.
• Functional, integration, regression and UAT testing.
• Strong defect investigation skills.
• Data validation using SQL.
• Strong documentation and reporting.

We are seeking an experienced Test Analyst to join a major digital transformation program delivering technology initiatives that support critical public sector services.

This is a hands-on testing role where you'll work across the full testing lifecycle, collaborating with project managers, business analysts, developers, vendors and business stakeholders to ensure quality outcomes are delivered.

You will be responsible for planning, designing, executing and reporting on testing activities across multiple projects and technology environments. The role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail and the ability to identify and manage quality risks throughout project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute test cases, test scripts and test scenarios
• Perform functional, integration, regression and production verification testing
• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) activities
• Review business, functional and technical requirements to ensure adequate test coverage
• Identify, document and manage defects through to resolution
• Prepare and maintain test plans, test evidence and traceability artefacts
• Conduct test data preparation, validation and reconciliation
• Provide testing status reports, risk identification and quality metrics
• Support testing governance and continuous improvement initiatives

Essential Experience

To be successful, you will ideally demonstrate:

• Tertiary qualifications in IT, Computer Science, Information Systems or a related discipline
• ISTQB Foundation Certification or equivalent
• Experience as a Test Analyst on medium to large ICT projects
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies, SDLC and quality assurance principles
• Experience developing and executing test plans, test cases and test scripts
• Experience using Jira, Azure DevOps or similar test and defect management tools
• Functional, integration, regression and UAT testing experience
• Strong defect investigation and troubleshooting skills
• Experience validating data using SQL or similar database technologies
• Strong documentation and reporting capabilities

Highly Desirable

• Experience working within government or highly regulated environments
• Experience testing complex integrations and multi-system environments
• Agile and DevOps exposure
• Exposure to test automation tools and non-functional testing activities

Additional Requirements

• Ability to work in Darwin, Northern Territory
• National Police Clearance required
