Job summary

MYtech Consulting Services is seeking a Senior Test Analyst for a 12-month fixed-term contract in Darwin. You will support the Test Manager and Project Managers, delivering testing capability across the project to ensure timely, high-quality outcomes.

You will develop test strategy and plans, design and execute test cases, automate where possible, and mentor junior analysts. Strong collaboration with vendors, business teams, and project stakeholders is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in Test Case development for System, UAT, and Regression testing.

Responsibilities

• Develop testing deliverables: Test Strategy, Plans, Cases, Status Reports, Scripts.
• Design and execute test cases for system, UAT, and production verification.
• Record results, manage defects and resolutions, and perform retests.
• Lead automation and integration testing across multiple systems.
• Mentor and support Test Analysts and assist Test Manager/Project Managers.

Job description

MYtech Consulting Services is a growing IT service provider, providing services to public and private sector clients. We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Test Analyst for a 12-month fixed-term contract within NTG. The Senior Test Analyst will be responsible for a full range of testing related activities and tasks, providing testing capability to the allocated program/project and help to ensure that products are delivered on time and to a high level of quality. The Senior Test Analyst will be required to support the relevant Test Manager and Project Manager(s) in the execution of testing activities in line with the program schedule, working with project team members, the business and the vendor(s) as required.

Key Duties And Responsibilities

• Develop testing related project deliverables in a timely manner, e.g. Test Strategy, Test Plans, Test Cases, Test Status Reports, and Test Scripts.
• Perform analysis, design, development, and execution of test cases for system, user acceptance and production verification testing.
• Execute and record test results and the management of defects and their resolutions.
• Record defects, participate in defect triage meetings, retest fixes, and identify regression tests.
• Lead and support automation testing and integration testing activities across multiple systems and testing phases.
• Work closely with project team members during testing activities and to support requirements traceability during solution delivery.
• Perform end-to-end testing across multiple systems and testing phases.
• Mentor and support Test Analysts.
• Support the Test Manager and Project Managers with program delivery execution through timely and quality testing outputs.

Essential Skills & Experience

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience as a Senior Test Analyst.
• High level leadership, interpersonal and communication skills with an ability to take a lead role across business and project stakeholders.
• Excellent liaison skills in particular the ability to negotiate with people across business areas, functions and the organisation with a focus on achieving high-quality outcomes.
• Experience in developing Test Strategy / Test Plan documentation.
• Experience in developing Test Cases for System Test, System Integration, UAT, Production Verification Testing, and Regression test suites.
• Experience in managing and coordinating the UAT phase with business stakeholders.
• Demonstrated experience in designing, developing, executing, and maintaining automated test scripts and automation regression suites using SmartBear TestComplete.
• Demonstrated experience in automating integration test scenarios across multiple systems, interfaces, APIs, databases or file-based data transfers.
• Experience using Atlassian products (Confluence and JIRA).
• Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, Swagger.
• Highly skilled in the use of the usual office tools such as Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Microsoft Outlook (email).
• Excellent problem solver and critical thinker.
• Self‑starter with high personal drive and a positive attitude.
• Strong experience in data validation and ensuring data accuracy across systems.
• Experience in integration and end‑to‑end testing across multiple systems.
• Ability to investigate and analyse issues across integrated systems.

Desirable Skills & Experience

• Experience working in education sector within government.
• Previous experience in a government large‑scale/multi‑year program environment.
• Possess relevant certification such as ISTQB.
• Experience with performance and load testing using JMeter or similar tools.
