Job summary

Community Housing Limited in South Kempsey, NSW, is seeking a Housing Officer to support customers to sustain tenancies while delivering high-quality tenancy and property management services. You will manage sign-ups, condition reports and inspections, coordinate maintenance with our Asset Management team, and ensure accurate records and compliance.

You will build relationships with customers, government bodies and support agencies, manage arrears, and participate in tribunals when required.

Qualifications

• Two years' experience in a similar tenancy or housing role.
• Understanding of the Residential Tenancies Act.
• Awareness of the needs of people experiencing housing crisis, including those with disability or additional support needs.
• Commitment to the right to good-quality housing with respectful, inclusive customer service.
• Strong organisation, accurate record-keeping and proficiency with technology; collaborative communication and problem solving.
• A current driver's licence and satisfactory Police, NDIS and Working with Children checks.

Responsibilities

• Managing tenancy sign-ups, property condition reports, inspections, lease and rent reviews, and tenancy exits.
• Managing rent collection and arrears recovery, providing clear information to help customers sustain their tenancies.
• Coordinating maintenance with our Asset Management team for occupied and vacant properties.
• Supporting fair and transparent property allocations and building relationships with customers, government departments and support agencies.
• Keeping accurate tenancy and property records, managing reporting and complaints, and meeting legislative and organisational requirements.
• Representing CHL at tribunal or court proceedings as required.
