Calibre Global Australia Pty Ltd in Adelaide is seeking an experienced Temporary Works Design Engineer to join our team. You will design, verify, and deliver temporary works and structural solutions for complex projects across infrastructure, commercial, industrial, mining and energy sectors.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the role involves collaboration with construction managers, project engineers, scaffolding contractors, and clients to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient outcomes,
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Temporary Works Design, Structural or Civil Engineering.
- Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and engineering design principles.
- Experience preparing engineering calculations and technical reports.
Responsibilities
- Design and review temporary works structures and systems.
- Prepare engineering calculations, reports, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Deliver temporary works designs for scaffolding systems, formwork, propping and shoring, cranes and lifting platforms, and temporary access structures.
- Conduct site inspections and provide construction support.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers, and project teams.
- Ensure compliance with relevant Australian Standards, legislation, and engineering best practice.
- Support quality assurance, risk management, and technical governance.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the design, verification, and delivery of temporary works and structural engineering solutions that support safe and efficient construction outcomes.
The role will involve close collaboration with construction managers, project engineers, scaffolding contractors, formwork suppliers, and project stakeholders across a diverse range of projects.
- Design and review temporary works structures and systems.
- Prepare engineering calculations, reports, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Deliver temporary works designs for:
- Scaffolding systems
- Formwork and falsework
- Propping and shoring systems
- Crane and lifting platforms
- Working platforms
- Excavation support systems
- Temporary access structures
- Construction staging and sequencing assessments
- Undertake structural and civil engineering analysis.
- Conduct site inspections and provide construction support.
- Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers, and project teams.
- Ensure compliance with relevant Australian Standards, legislation, and engineering best practice.
- Support quality assurance, risk management, and technical governance systems.
- Contribute to business development and client relationship management.
- Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in Temporary Works Design, Structural Engineering, or Civil Engineering.
- Strong knowledge of Australian Standards and engineering design principles.
- Experience preparing engineering calculations and technical reports.
- Proficiency in structural analysis and engineering software.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Hold a current Australian Driver's Licence.
- Full Australian working rights.
- Member of Engineers Australia (MIEAust).
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or actively working towards Chartership.
- Experience within construction, infrastructure, mining, commercial, or industrial projects.
- Experience with temporary works governance frameworks.
- Familiarity with scaffolding systems, formwork systems, and construction methodologies.
